In Tracer Tracer Season 2 Episode 1, The show starts with a scene from the present day, with Dong-Joo standing at the site of his father’s accident. He imagines Director In Tae-Joon at the location, stumbling away from his father’s car with a notebook in his hands.
We then rewind to 2017 to see how everything unfolded. After taking a gamble on the presidential election and losing, Director In and his team were in danger of being pushed out of their positions. To gain leverage over the ruling party, Director In sought out Dong-Joo’s father to get his secret ledger.
Dong-Joo has mostly solved the Gold Cash case, but his next step is to prove that CFO Ryu is the backer. This means going after Vice Commissioner Min since her husband is the vice president of Sanjo Bank. As the prosecutors investigate Sanjo Bank concerning Gold Cash, they conclude that Han Kyung-mo is the ringleader. However, when they search his home, they find blood marks and video footage of him running away.
